Another Grey Day in the Big Blue World

And now she wakes to another grey day
In the Big Blue World
And her room’s a tiny cage for a golden bird
O where did love go?

And now the baby, that looks like him,
Starts to cry again
And again, again, eternally over again
Do rivers ever end?

Count the thousand drops of rain
Washed down the drain
Is life the same, in a way?

Catch the bus that never comes
Clouds block the sun
Is life the same, in a way?

What will tomorrow bring?
Will birds sing?

And now the flowers in the window box
Seem to bow their heads
As she sits and stares with eyes, sad circles of red
Where did love go?

Never a letter or a call
Knock upon the door
So much like life, in a way

Watch the hands move round the clock
Tie time in knots
Life does the same, in a way

What will tomorrow bring?
Will birds sing?

Let the birds sing!

And now she sleeps in an empty bed
Through a starless night
But she dreams of snow-white doves
Bringing branches of love
Maybe that’s enough

Count the thousand drops of rain
Washed down the drain
Is life the same, in a way?

Catch the bus that never comes
Clouds block the sun
Is life the same, in a way?

Never a letter or a call
A knock upon the door
So much like life, in a way

Watch the hands move round the clock
Tie time in knots
Life does the same, in a way

What will tomrorow bring?
Will birds sing?

24

See what happened to the girl
‘Round the midnight
When she lost a crystal shoe
I don’t need no spell on me
Or bell to tell me
You better go, you better say good bye

Doesn’t take that much for me
To feel alright now
And to knock, knock on your door
Maybe just a sip or two
Of good espresso
And my nails painted two times or more

Too bad she gave it all away
When the magic’s gone astray, hey hey
I’d never let it be
Whatever may come to me
When it turns to be twenty-four

Running up and down the stairs
As she used to
I’ve been searching for your face
In a pair of platform boots
I may stumble
Oh what a pain, or what a shame on me

Too bad if I’m not fancy enough
But I’m so happy just for being so tough
I’d never hide away
Whatever may come my way
Whenever it turns to be twenty-four

Too bad she gave it all away
When the magic’s gone astray, hey hey
I’d never let it be
Whatever may come to me
When it turns to be twenty-four

When it turns to be twenty-four

Notes

“When it turns to be twenty-four” in this song is referring to it becoming midnight (24:00). This may be obvious, but I sure didn’t get it for a while, despite all the other Cinderella references!

Afternoon Repose

Silent afternoon
Curtains swept up by a gentle breeze
Floating memories
In hours like these of the days that we share

Like an ending summer eclipse
Sweet sun pours in from the window
And this shadowed room turns into gold
Outshining sorrow

In this peace of mind, no apprehensions
I’ve found my own―a bright reflection
Something calm and strong, I can’t explain it
And it’s embracing me

I’ll wake up to the morning sun here comes another day

And somehow know everything will be OK.

Wind chime, lullabies
Calling me into my garden
Where we kissed the seeds to grow and bloom
Tenderly in the spring

Daydreams arise in sunshine’s glory
Midday repose, a simple story
Something calm and strong, I can’t explain it
And it’s embracing me

Past the yearning, I learned to temper my sorrow
Memories of you, I’ll take to tomorrow
Coz I am glad I awoke to this calmness
You lead me to

In this peace of mind, no apprehensions
I’ve found my own―a bright reflection
Something calm and strong, I can’t explain it
And it’s embracing me
I’ll wake up to the morning sun here comes another day

And reminisce Love’s afternoon repose

why, or why not

To get my happiness I had done everything,
but had done nothing to be blamed and accused of.
The sound of footsteps became louder every day,
Then I noticed the fact there was no time.

I was a believer in life to be myself always,
and was asking whether I would be alive.

Give me a reason why not to adopt in this way,
or judge me to be guilty of so many incurable sins.
Tell me why, or why not. Complaining way too much,
maybe I overlooked something fatal for me.

The whole world was at a complete standstill,
and I was in fetters at the mercy of the mob.
The silent warning became louder every day.
Then I kept pretending not to hear.

Its meaning had been in the eyes of beholder all along.
It had grown dark before I found a sign.

“Among the nonsense tragedies, what on earth you are looking for?
You only have to be honest to yourself and your own fate.”
Tell me why, or why not. Complaining way too much,
maybe I over looked something fatal for me.

There is nobody who knows there will be nobody.
Except for me, all the world has gone mad.

So what is forgiveness you are willing to withhold?
What is the well-being you are willing to make?
Now what? So what? Don’t you come interrupt me, oh please.
while I am interrupting myself.

Soleil

Silence.
I’m fed up screaming and crying from sorrow.
I learned to progress.

How come?
A sudden silly feeling go slow.
I learned to have no regrets.

I just can see you’ll close your eyes.
keep your eyes in front.
You ask for it.
no relay so run through the night.
The bright day breaks in no time.

Shade is the truth.
Shade is the truth which surrounds me from sorrow.
I learned to forget.

How come?
A sudden silly feeling rolls over me.
I learned to feel the days.

500 Miles

If you miss the train I’m on
you’ll know that I’m gone
you can hear the whistle blow
a hundred miles

Lord I’m one lord I’m two lord I’m three lord I’m four
lord I’m 500 miles from my home
500 miles

Not a shirt on my back
not a penny to my name
no I can’t go a home
this a way

Ring A Bell

Reaching out for no man’s land
To take a breath and take a chance
I’d walk a thousand nights to change the world
Where to go, when to stop, who to trust, what to say
I found them all
I just need someone to share

Snarl in the dusk everyday to carry on
Ain’t so strong
I ain’t so strong to go on
Living in the past is not the way to live
I wish you could hear me say
That I miss you

Why were we there back to back
Why were we there face to face
I must be the light when you’re in the dark
If you lose me somewhere and your tears are in the air
I will ring a bell until you feel me by your side

Looking up into the sky
Looking for the reason
Why I’m here and why you can’t be here
Who’s to hate, who’s to blame, who’s to hug, who’s to love
Who decides?
Why can’t we be the same

Trying to believe
Walking down the lonesome road
Ain’t so far
I ain’t so far from you
Staying the way you are means solitude
I wish you were here
And shook off my fear

Why were we there back to back
Why were we there face to face
I must be the light when you’re in the dark
If I lose you somewhere and I’m still hanging in there
I will ring a bell until you feel me by your side

The world has been in a mix too long
There’s no peace when you’re at war
Heads or tails, you and I, light and dark, ups and downs
What is there in the middle, what’s there to divide us
If you’re hurt, cry and say it
Can’t you see you’re my other half

Why were we there back to back
Why were we there face to face
I must be the light when you’re in the dark
If you lose me somewhere and your tears are in the air
I will ring a bell until you feel me by your side

Mirror

As passing by a cat with green eyes
I realized
How miserable I had been
And how comfortable I had been like
Those eyes looked jealous and scared at
The world out there
I didn’t know lots of things
I have known too many things now
Wish you were my mirror
Share the grief
Spare the smile for each other
No need to speak
to be understood

I am who I am
Can you be yourself?
Or is it easier to lie?
I am who I am
Can you be yourself
Right next to me

As shaken by the train
I asked myself
How far away we could go
And how many times we have tried in vain

When I try to grab you,
Everytime, you jump the rails
If feels like faith is vanity
I don’t wanna lose my sanity

Wish I were your mirror
Giving a kiss is getting a kiss
Against each other
No need to fight to be accepted

I am who I am
Can you be yourself?
Or is it easier to lie?
I am who I am
Can you be yourself
That’s all I care
I am who I am
Can you be yourself
Right next to me
I am who I am
Can you be yourself?
Or is it easier to lie?
I am who I am
Can you be yourself
Right next to me

Look into the mirror
Move the way you want to
I just want to be in the same frame

I am who I am
Can you be yourself?
Or is it easier to lie?
I am who I am
Can you be yourself
That’s all I care
I am who I am
Can you be yourself
Right next to me
I am who I am
Can you be yourself?
Or is it easier to lie?
I am who I am
Can you be yourself
Right next to me

Just A Girl

Don’t worry
I’ll get out of your life, so don’t worry
Yes, I’m gonna miss you for a while
But don’t worry
I’ll be fine soon, so don’t worry
I’m sure you’re gonna get a peaceful life
So smile

I’m just a girl who stopped by in your town
I’m just a girl who happened to like you
I’m just a girl who got to know you too well
I was just a lucky girl
Just a lucky girl

Don’t worry
I know I deserve this because of my ego
Hope you don’t mind that I drop off a song of Dear John
Maybe I’m wrong

Don’t worry
You won’t even find me in your record
Because you’re gonna write a million songs of your own

I’m just a girl who had the sweetest dream ever
I’m just a girl who likes to write about you
I’m just a girl who wants it all
I”m just a greedy girl
Just a greedy girl

Don’t worry
I promise I won’t kill your soul again
Please let me close my diary of eyes on you right here

I’m just a girl who needed to be stroked when it was cold
I’m just a girl who wanted to be blind to rewind
I”m just a girl who loved you too much to touch
I”m just a stupid girl
Just a stupid girl

I’m a girl
I’m just a girl
I’m just a girl

Warning

There are ways, there are many ways you could say all this;
There are days, there are many days it is hit or miss
And I know this could be a warning of some sort to me

Maybe now, maybe now you’re ready to say that you’re done
Waiting for, waiting for the answer that I’m the one
So I’ll meet you in Greece and we’ll sail the Mediterranean Sea

Time just took a toll on me and turned me cold and cynical
Can I forgive the past and you, and see them not as obstacles?

I’ll take love from the bottle and I won’t choke on the throttle
So does this mean I’m playing it safe?

Heavenly, heavenly are feelings I have for you
Motherly, motherly are instincts I’m not into
And I know this could be a warning of some sort to me

Blinded by contentment and refusing to see truth at all
Denying that I’m flying to the edge will never stop the fall

I’ll lay pads on the ground before I jump off of the building
So does this mean I’m going to live?

Eyes wide open I’m still hopin there’s a way
For this cycle to be broken, I’m closer everyday…

I’ll take love from the bottle and I won’t choke on the throttle
I’ll lay pads on the ground before I jump off of the building
So does this mean I’m going to live?

There are ways, there are many ways you could say all this;
There are days, there are many days it is hit or miss
And I know this could be a warning of some sort to me
